Italy Missions Update - November 2011

Ciao a tutti!  As always we hope you are well as you receive this update.
English Club - Come and Gone!
CC Treviso’s community outreach event, The English Club,  began October 12th for five sessions.  The English Club provides an environment for Italians to practice the English they already know. The five free sessions were well attended with an average of 20 adults attending each Wednesday evening.  As with the Spring sessions, a team from the Castle in Austria came to assist in one of the meetings.  Interaction between students and the Austria team resulted in conversations about the Lord, salvation through faith and other meaningful topics.  Additionally, one gentleman has participated in our Men’s fellowship, another plans to join us this Saturday and others have expressed interest in joining us for our Sunday services.  Please join us as we pray for each of the students, specifically for Damiano, Pier Giorgio, Massimo, Dorota and Louise.  Please also pray for the Lords leading as we consider taking The English Club to Montebelluna and Padova to support outreach efforts by the CC fellowships there.
Movie Night - Fede come Patate (Faith like Potatoes)
CC Treviso held its first Movie night Oct 21st with an equal number of families from the fellowship and those from outside the fellowship participating.  It was a great opportunity to meet new families and discuss the movie afterwords.  It was a fun night of popcorn, snacks and a film.  We look forward to the next!
Wedding Bells were ringing!
We were blessed to be invited to the wedding of our dear friends Daniel and Eleonora.  Held at a Catholic church, the service was quite unique in that the Priest agreed to Daniels request for Pastor Mark to present “marriage related scriptures” during the service.  It was also special in that Pastor Mark, Renata and I (Bob) were asked to lead worship throughout the service.  We are blessed to have been a part of this special day. Afterward we enjoyed a classic Italian wedding reception with traditional wedding activities!
Work Opportunities
Lori and I want to thank you for praying with us for the Lords provision toward our service here. As we have expressed in the past, we desire to be tent makers and to contribute to our financial support as much as possible.  This season has been blessed with work being provided for the 1st time to Lori as she teaches English to nursery school children through songs, games and crafts.  Bob continues to teaching corporate English classes as well as private guitar and English classes. Please pray for the Lord to build relationships that lead to those long sought conversations about the Gospel of Grace!
Our Italian Documents - 2 more years.
We thank the Lord for opening the doors for us to remain in Italy another two years and for your ongoing prayers.  We expect to receive our official cards within 6 weeks time.

Visit from Home/New Computer
We hosted our friend Bill for a week recently which is always a blessing.  Besides bringing hugs, "hello"s from home, and an Italian sized appetite, Bill also delivered to Bob a new computer to replace his which had stopped functioning recently.  We are thankful for the opportunity to fellowship with Bill, for the Lords provisions, and for the kindness of the individual(s) who heeded the Lord's direction on our behalf regarding the laptop!

Thanks again for your interest in and prayers toward this ministry.  We are blessed in knowing that we have your prayerful support behind us!  God bless.

As missionaries we survive largely by the prayers and financial support of those who stand by our ministry. If the work in Treviso is something you wish to support financially, you may do so by sending a check to or contacting:
