"Italy Missions" March 2013 - Final Update

Buon giorno a tutti.  Please find our final “Italy Missions” update letter.  “Final” in that God has called us out of the mission field to return to America ending our service to the church in Treviso.

Our beloved Fiat Uno Fire
Our return to America comes with mixed emotions, but with certainty that this is the will of God.  Our vision to serve in Treviso, Italy began six years ago after our third short-term mission trip.  Upon our return from this trip, we began praying for the Lord to raise up helpers for Pastor Mark and Renata Nigro, who at that time, were doing much of the work of the church.  As we prayed, the Lord put it upon our hearts to step out in faith and go.  And we did.  For almost five years we served alongside Mark and Renata and the other servants at CC Treviso.

Last summer, during our furlough to the States, the Lord answered our prayer for direction with a phone call from Mark and Renata telling us of the Lord’s leading for them to serve at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA.  This confirmed to us that our time of service at CC Treviso was over and steps to return to America were put in place.  We thank God for this clear answer.  Lori was eager to return to the States but I was less accepting that the time had come to leave.  With this answer to prayer, we both moved confidently in our new direction.

On Feb 28th, we boarded the plane with our four suitcases, guitar and carry-on’s and headed back to the States.  Our hearts were, and remain heavy, for the family in Christ and friends we met while serving in Treviso.  No one could have prepared us for the manifold blessings that we would receive while stepping out in faith.  But isn’t that like our God, who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think? (Eph. 3:20).

Our return to America comes with much apprehension.  We find ourselves staring in the face of many new beginnings even though we are on familiar ground.  New jobs, new vehicles, new areas of service await us.  These chapters have already been written by God and we look forward to what He has planned for us.

Calvary Chapel Treviso, Italy
Please continue to pray for Calvary Chapel Treviso as the church is experiencing significant changes.  Pray for Pastor Mark and Renata as they move to America in June and all that this encompasses and for the Lord’s leading and guiding
as they transfer the church to Pastor Brian Cambra and his wife, Maria.

Pray also for Pastor Brian and his family as he assumes responsibility as Sr. Pastor of CC Treviso.  They too are experiencing great changes in their lives and we ask that you would pray for them as they begin shepherding the flock in Treviso.

We want to extend to you, our friends and family, our deepest thanks.  Without the continued prayer, encouragement and practical support, we would not have been able to remain in Treviso these four plus years.  We are forever grateful for this experience and your part in making it a reality.  Thank you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (Num 6:24-26).
